Week 26 Bumpdate

Happy Friday friends! Technically today is the last day of week 26 but I had a doctor’s appointment yesterday, a shower on Sunday and wanted to get an update in anyways. My appointment went really well and both baby boy and I are progressing along as we should be. My shower was amazing, you’ll see more about that below my update. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

How far along: 26 weeks, 6 days

Gender: Boy

How big is baby: About the size of a butternut squash, weighing in at roughly 2 lbs 4 oz

My weight gain: 18 lbs, belly measuring at 26cm

Maternity clothes: Still wearing some of my regular items, like dresses and some tops. Anything on the bottom however, like jeans, shorts, leggings, etc. I can only fit in maternity clothes.

Wedding ring on or off: On

Exercise: Still trying to get to the gym 3-4 days a week for cardio and maybe some light weightlifting, and still taking walks as often as possible

Sleep: Hit or miss, overall sleeping “OK”

Miss anything: I of course miss being able to come home and pour a big glass of wine but I really haven’t been “craving” it or really missing as much as I thought I would. I really have surprised myself haha

Cravings: If anything I have a hard time deciding what I want to eat. The closest thing to any cravings is I tend to request Mexican food a lot but I already loved it so that’s no big surprise!

Aversions: None

Symptoms: I have been very fortunate that the symptoms have been minimal and minor. I am of course a little more tired than normal and have the occasional “pregnancy brain” moments (like I put the yogurt in the freezer yesterday…whoops!) and my lower back aches most days. Overall, I am very lucky and blessed to have had an easy pregnancy so far.

Belly Button in or out: Slightly starting to push out

Movement: Lots of movement everyday! And I think it is amazing!!! I’m not sure what he’s doing in the there but sometimes I swear he is working out or doing jumping jacks. We are also starting to actually see my belly move a little with some of his movements.

Mood: Feeling pretty good, happy with how things are progressing. Of course having some occasional hormonal mood swings but I would like to say overall, I’m doing much better than I had anticipated. I think I thought I would be crying one moment, happy the next, etc. throughout the whole pregnancy.

Best Moment of the week: I had a wonderful shower on Sunday with some of my oh so sweet friends and it was perfect. I felt so loved and I think it sunk in even more how blessed we are with this little miracle and to have so many people ready to shower him with kisses and love!

What I (we) did/Got for the baby: We have a crib, dresser and curtains in the nursery!! Still playing around with where things will go, but it’s finally starting to look like a nursery and I love everything we have so far.

Doctor’s appointment: Had one yesterday and for the first time, baby boy wasn’t as cooperative with giving us a side profile of his sweet face. We did get to see his face a little from the front and got a super cute view of his little ear and you could see he was holding his hand by his face, kind of covering it up. As I said, he weighs a little over 2 pounds, right where the doctors said he should be. Kidneys, heart, bladder, etc. all still look great and his brain is actually measuring in the 93 percentile, doctor says we might have a math wiz on our hands! Lol

Looking forward to: Continuing to decorate the nursery and getting things organized. And not baby related, I am looking forward to having the family together for Thanksgiving and eating some yummy food!

Baby Shower Recap:

As I mentioned, I had my first baby shower on Sunday and it was lovely! My hostesses did a great job and it is a moment I will remember forever. Baby boy (and Adam and I) got some great gifts and we can’t wait to put them to use! The theme was nautical and super cute! We had yummy Zoe’s and awesome cupcakes from CamiCakes. Here are a few pictures from the special day:
